Vomite ergo sum!

Vomite ergo sum!

A woman on her knees. A Roma vomiting liquid gold. Refusing that, which is her immanent part. That other, foreign, uncanny, abject. Her quiet although expressive gesture poses urgent questions to the spectator: Do I regularly disgorge from my body this other ‘foreign’ body in order to make myself feel more beautiful, purer, more worth of love?

At this performance, the artists had to yet again test her physical limits – to swallow and disgorge toxic, liquid metal in a harmless manner. The hazard on the verge of survival is a central part of her dance with identity, not its added figure.
